Sheridan Patterson

 Our phenomenal women of Sheridan Patterson joined together in unity at the Women’s Retreat on July 14-15, 2012 in St. Michael’s MD. It was a great overnight experience tied together with love, laughter, and admiration. The women got to engage in shopping, dining and pure relaxation during the first day. During the second day they engaged in self-exploration by honoring their mothers and then honoring themselves. The one thing that was discovered is often “we are our mother’s children” and the only true way to healing is through self-disclosure and honor. They are truly phenomenal women, not only to their children but to this agency. We would like to thank all our women for such a joyous experience.

SPECIAL PATHS, CHILD PLACEMENT ACADEMY 

Recruitment
Our Special Paths, Child Placement Academy is a holistic, therapeutic foster care program. It is designed to provide the foster child, foster parent and biological family with a MIND, BODY and SPIRIT healing process that provides pure consciousness, good health, the highest good and greatness. We are seeking individuals to engage in an enriching, rewarding, cultural and spiritual experience as Therapeutic Foster Parents. Individuals who are motivated to embrace a psycho spiritual approach to therapy to empower our clients with the tools they need to heal. Our clients are boys and girls ages 0-21 years old who have been abused, neglected, and/or abandoned. Therapeutic Foster Parents are financially compensated, provided 24 hour support services and training.

All interested individuals are required to attend a two hour orientation which enlightens the prospective parents about our history, mission, vision, program services and training. Orientation is scheduled quarterly, followed by a home study of those who are interested in becoming Therapeutic Foster Parents.
Requirements
Possess at least a high school diploma
Must be at least 23 years of age
Must be employed.
Must have own transportation
Must have ample space for the child
Must be open to ALL possibilities
Must complete 32 hours of Pre-Service Training

All therapeutic services are provided by licensed and certified clinicians, social workers, psychologist and psychiatrist. All therapeutic services, training, other services and events are provided at the office site of the agency and in the foster parent's homes.

 Our Next Orientation will be Thursday, April 19, 2012 and will begin at 6:00 PM. The orientation will take place in our corporate offices located at 3100 Lord Baltimore Drive, Suite 203, Baltimore, MD  21244. R.E.A.L Training will begin on May 26, 2012, June 2, June 23 & June 30.
